Karlsruhe City

Karlsruhe is a city located in the southwest of Germany, in the state (Bundesland) Baden-Württemberg, close to the French-German border. Karlsruhe has 294,761 inhabitants (2010).

The city's altitude is between 100 m a.s.l. (on the Western shore of Upper Rhine Vylley) and 322 m (near the TV tower located on the Fremersberg northwards to the Black Forest (Schwarzwald). Karlsruhe is located in the temperate zone with hot, mostly humid summers and mild winters [Stadtwiki: average temperature 10.7°C; average precipitation 770 mm/year].
