GAWN - German Alumni Water Network

The German Alumni Water Network (GAWN) has been established to optimize coordination of activities for former students of German Universities and development associations in Germany. It is the outcome of a joint effort of DAAD and six universities who offered alumni summer schools in 2005. GAWN provides contact information from and for Alumni and Alumnae active in the water sector online.

SURED - Sustainable Resources Development

From 2000 to 2005 a regional network of alumni for South Asia, South-East Asia and China was established. This network is entitled "SUstainable REsource Development" (SURED). The objective of this DAAD-financed program was to foster and enhance communication to and among alumni of German universities who now live in these Asian regions. The SURED Programme involves alumni of German universities dealing with the sustainable management of land and water resources. Geographically, the SURED programme addresses alumni residing in the region of South Asia (Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka), South-East Asia ( Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines) and China. In 2005, SURED was integrated into GAWN.
