Preis für konstruktiven Ingenieurbau am KIT

At the KIT Department of Civil Engineering, Geo and Environmental Sciences the "Preis für konstruktiven Ingenieurbau" is awarded for the first time to students who have written an excellent Master thesis. The prize money of € 3,000 can be awarded a maximum of three students.

Criteria

The prize is awarded for outstanding master theses written at the KIT institutes Baustatik, Massivbau und Baustofftechnologie (Abt. Baustoffe und Betonbau, Abt. Massivbau, Abt. Energieeffiziente Gebäudetechnik), Bodenmechanik und Felsmechanik, Holzbau und Baukonstruktionen, Mechanik and Stahl- und Leichtbau. 

The named institutes can nominate a maximum of two candidates. 

Required documents

The following documents must be submitted in electronic form as PDF files:

• the master thesis
• the oral presentation
• the evaluation of the thesis
• the candidate's curriculum vitae incl. address, phone number and e-mail adress

Selection procedure

The candidate is asked to present his/her thesis in a short presentation (max. 10 minutes) followed by a discussion (approx. 5 minutes). Afterward, the jury - composed of one representative from each participating institute - will select the winners.

Awarding of the prize

The certificates will be awarded at the annual Department ceremony of the KIT-Department of Civil Engineering, Geo and Environmental Sciences.
